Love you. Love people. Where did that tag line come from?
Have you ever stared at what you thought was a beautiful design for a long time and to then find so many flaws, so many imperfections that it made you dislike that design? Even a design can not be perfect. No matter how many times you tweak it, no matter how many eyes you have on it to make changes… you will always find a flaw.
Same with music. When I write a song, record a song, mix my song, master my song, and then release my song… by the time I release it I can hear so many imperfections in it that it annoys the living day lights out of me. Other people can’t hear the imperfections but I can. My music is out on itunes and I can’t do anything about it but embrace the imperfections. I can embrace that the note I hit could have been bigger and longer but.. I was in the beginning phase of recording so that song can be a reflection of my growth instead of an imperfection.
I think that is sometimes how we view ourselves. You stare in the mirror long enough you are going to find something wrong… we weren’t built to be perfect and that is ok. Embrace your imperfections. Own them. and KNOW that the imperfections make you.. well YOU. They make you unique. So, when you find someone picking at your imperfections - they are doing that because they have them too and they can’t embrace theirs just yet. Love you. Love people.
